How do I remove tea stains from a finished cross-stitch (on edge of fabric, not on actual cross-stitch).?
The stain is years old. It is actually rooibos (red bush) tea, not regular tea. Cloth is Aida (ecru), floss is DMC.
Before any recommendations are used. Try on a peice of scrap fabric or stitching. And ask your local sewing or fabric shop. What I would try is oxyclean. I dilute it with water and blot with a hand towel. When the stain is gone, you may end up with a white looking stain. It is just the oxyclean that dried. It can be removed with wet towel. Make take a few tries to get all the white out but its because you are BLOTTING and not rubbing. If is something that could be partially submerged(since on the edge of fabric) the oxyclean may wash off easier.
